Ductile iron pipe specifications
The European Standard EN 545:2010 specifies that ductile iron pipes must be centrifugally cast. Depending on the pipe class, centrifugally cast pipes must undergo a work hydrostatic test for at least 10 seconds at a required pressure specified in EN 545:2010 Standard. Pipes, pipe-fittings, and joints must be able to withstand normal working conditions, including internal pressure, external strains, overloads, and reactions from soil or supports, as determined by the contractor depending on the final design for each segment, taking into account the surge and test pressures.
